Summer Camp 2008 successfully held<\/h2>\n

Summer Camp for Boys and Girls was held successfully from 4th May to 18th May. This event was well received by all the students.<\/p>\n

Eye Camps held in Aashrama Premises during April 2008<\/h2>\n

In the month of April 2008, a total 196 patients arrived during the ongoing Eye Camps in the Aashrama Campus. Of these, till now 70 cataract operations and 25 operations related to Lacrimal Sac are performed.<\/p>\n

Medical Camp for Rural School Children held on 20th March, 2008<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ramakrishna Math, Ulsoor and volunteer doctors from Dr. Syamala Reddy Dental College, conducted Free Medical Camp at Govt. Higher Primary School, B Channasandra, Bangalore Rural District.<\/p>\n

Around 250 school children were covered in this Health Check Up. Wherein General Health , ENT and Dental check up were performed by qualified Doctors. Few cases of serious diseases were detected and Math is trying to help them in getting good treatment in Bangalore city. Free Medicines were distribted.<\/p>\n

Health Tips and importance of cleanliness were explained to School Children.<\/p>\n

Spiritual Retreat for devotees<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Spiritual Retreat by Swami Bhagvadananda and Swami Ishapremananda from Mysore Ashrama, was conducted in Ulsoor Ashrama premises on 16th March 2008. Please visit this link for photos of this event.<\/p>\n

Summer Camp for Boys and Girls from 4th May 2008 to 18th May<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Camp is aimed at giving School Children (5th Std to 10th Std) a taste of various elevating and healthy pursuits in life. The programme includes Vedic Chanting, Yogasanas, Personality development classes, Fun Games, Talent Shows, Quiz, Classes like Skill development, Memory and Concentration, Vedic Mathematics, Cultural Heritage of India etc.<\/p>\n

Fully equipped Pathology unit with modern investigation facilities has been made accessible to all at minimum charges. Also facility for free blood Sugar estimations on every Saturday has been started in Vivekananda Cheritable Dispensary.<\/p>\n

Saree Distribution Programme Completed<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On the occasion of Shri Sarada Devi Jayanti, Saree Distribution Programme was completed. A total of 2000 Sarees were distributed on this occasion.<\/p>\n

National Youth Day Celebrated on 12th Jan, 2008 <\/strong><\/h2>\n

National Youth Day Celebrations were held at Swami Vivekananda Park, Ulsoor Lake on 12th January, 2008. School students fondly remembered Swamiji’s great contribution to our motherland and to the humanity as a whole.
\nAround 1200 school children from eight schools participated in this event.<\/p>\n

Shri Amar Kumar Pandey, IPS Commissioner, Youth Service and Sports, Govt of Karnataka, presided over the event as Chief guest.<\/p>\n

At the Bangalore Book Fair held between 12th Oct and 21st Oct about 20,000 complimentary copies of
\nSwami Vivekananda’s Call to the nation”<\/strong> were distributed to the youth.<\/p>\n

Durga Pooja celebrated <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Durga Pooja was celebrated on October 19th in the math.<\/p>\n

Free tutions for school children <\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of its welfare activities the math has started free tution facilities for students of class X in its premesis.<\/p>\n

Care for rural school children <\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of its welfare activities the math has distributed school uniforms, notebooks and other educational materials
\nto school children studying in Govt. Primary and High schools. By this scheme 2642 students from 43 villages were benefitted.<\/p>\n

Number of Eye Operations conducted by the Math crosses 10,000 mark <\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of its healthcare activities the math performs free cataract operations in both rural and urban areas.
\nBy the grace of Sri Ramakrishna, as of July 31, 2007 the math has conducted 10,110 cataract operations out of 30,382 screened patients through 280 camps
\nheld since 1999. We take this opportunity to convey our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, volunteers and well-wishers.<\/p>\n

New Charitable Dispensary Inaugurated <\/strong><\/h2>\n
